Duties

As a consultant, you will support our client in the definition and optimization of their innovation solutions portfolio and go-to-market.

This entails that you will be responsible for:

  • Innovation Project management:
    • manage innovation projects from idea to implementation, following the lean-startup methodology and include:
      • Exploration:
        • Research trends and conduct market analysis.
        • Remaining up-to-date with new applications and trends.
        • Changing customer behaviors via market research.
        • Contacting suppliers, partners, startups, etc.
        • Supporting our client in identifying opportunities.
      • Problem-Solution & Product-Market Fit:
        • Translating ideas into business models in cooperation with the Innovation Team of our client, this implies a.o. identification of target customer and market segments, detecting synergies with technology and channel partners, develop compelling value propositions that will leverage the full potential of the solutions.
        • Conduct customer interviews and tests for understanding and discovering customer needs, validation of assumptions and solution testing.
        • Proactively contribute to design, develop and implement pilots; designing mock-ups, setting up landing pages, etc.
        • Make reports on the status of innovation projects.
        • Collect and present data in a structured way.
        • Drawing up the business case and the go-to-market strategy for the product or service.
  • Innovation Training:
    • Guide and train our clients’ innovation team in business modeling and other innovation tools.
  • Innovation Strategy :
    • Identification of potential partnerships.
    • Support and drive the Innovation Strategy program.
    • The role will also consist of planning, monitoring and reporting on progress made and results achieved in relation to our client strategic objectives.

Training, knowledge and experience

We are looking for a professional with entrepreneurial / innovation experience, and the following qualifications:

  • University Degree in Innovation, Economics, International Business
  • Passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Enjoys facilitating teams
  • Hands-on / proactive / good communicator / structured but creative
  • Good knowledge of innovation tools and methodologies, specifically in the development of business model canvasses, establishing and managing innovation eco-systems
  • Good knowledge of online marketing
  • Good IT skills (MS Office)
  • Solid project management skills, good understanding of financials, and able to produce business plans and go-to-market strategies
  • A results-driven individual, motivated by taking accountability for targeted outcomes
  • Proven technical skills, ideally through the combination of an educational degree (engineering degree) and professional experience
  • Sound business acumen, with the ability to apprehend technological dimensions and business challenges, and translate these into market proof propositions for a broad audience (e.g. customers partners, sales people, engineers, ...)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Experience in working in cross-functional teams and structures
